Terror - Less Lethal More Universal

A new US report disclosed deaths from terror attacks have declined for the third year in a row, but terrorism affected more countries in 2017 that in previous years.

According to the latest Global Terrorism Index, the continuing decline of ISIS in Iraq and Syria combined with an increased emphasis on counterterrorism worldwide has paid off.

According to the report by the Institute for Economics and Peace through the Global Terrorism Database the number of deaths has fallen by around 52% overall, dropping 75% in Europe alone.

Of course, there has been a shift from the organised groups to individual type attacks as recently reported in Australia and the region.
