Technology - The Future of Policing?

Recent research confirms that effective operational policing includes use of field officer supportive technology. A study through the University of Cambridge disclosed the deployment of body cameras by police led to an 87 percent drop in violence against officers.

It is reported that video analytics is becoming increasingly important within policing. Similarly, operational security staff could also benefit from innovative field strategies that use supportive technology.

Currently two studies are being conducted, one in the UK and the other in Dubai relative to this technological area.  It is argued that operational costs are actually reduced as the evidence associated with filmed allegations of criminal behaviour are difficult to dispute.

We will report the findings of the two studies when they become available later this year.
