Victoria Police SHIELD Initiative
Based upon the NYPD SHIELD program, through its Counter Terrorism Command Victoria Police is the first police force in Australia to introduce a SHIELD initiative. The initiative is effectively a collaboration between Victoria Police and the Victorian private security sector sharing information in addition to education in protective security concepts and responsibilities.

Liquor Regulator to Change in Victoria
The Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulator (VCGLR) as regulator of the liquor industry is about to change under legislation recently introduced into the Victorian Parliament. Legislation was passed in the Victorian Parliament in December 2021 re-naming the VCGLR as the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission (VGCCC).

Liquor Accords and other liquor laws are changing
From 31 January 2022 amendments to the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 (Vic) come into effect. The changes include maximum patron banning is 12 months and, other than using or disclosing information regarding banned persons, it is an offence to pass on information outside of this requirement.
