Congratulations ASIS NSW Chapter

The ASIS New South Wales Chapter 2016 Annual Conference entitled "I.T - The New Frontier of Security" was an outstanding success. With delegates from across Australia this high quality conference is a must for 2017.

Chapter Chair Mr Scott Taylor and his team are to be commended on providing such a high quality event.  Our Chair Dr Tony Zalewski was a guest who reported "all presenters provided most informative, interesting and practical sessions."

Detective Inspector Gordon Arbinja of the NSW Police Cybercrime Unit provided an entertaining and informative session on current trends associated with cyber threats and how identity can be compromised online.

Dr Keith Suter, well known for his work with Channel 7 also highlighted how digital privacy is slowly evaporating with no borders from a sector perspective.  He argues it is time to move from idealism to realism in proactively addressing this growing risk.

Other speakers provided practical guidance through various case studies on how information systems can be attacked through strategic penetration physically, online or through staff vulnerability.

Certainly a worthwhile event and looking forward to attending in 2017.
