ASQA Security Training Review

The Australian Skills Quality Authority has published its findings from the national review of security industry training. Issues highlighted include inconsistent licensing across states and territories, poor quality training and deficient assessments.

The review was based upon concerns expressed across industry, by regulators and more recently Coroners investigating the deaths of patrons during interventions or restraints.

The report reinforces concerns expressed across industry about inconsistent licensing practices including applicants using less stringent training in other jurisdictions to obtain a security licence in Victoria.

A full copy of the report is available from the ASQA website - http://www.asqa.gov.au
